A whodunit for the ages!
In the spirit of "The Monster at the End of this Book", Milo breaks the fourth wall to engage the reader in helping him find chapter two, unaided by a blundering detective, and actively hindered by a nefarious janitor who, among other things, heaps all the "M"s from one entire page, into a neat little pile. A creative story for nonlinear thinkers.

A fun, metafictive book that toys around with character knowledge that they're inside a book. Chapter Two is Missing succeeds in its boldness and ingenuity, but I found the characters to be a little two-dimensional. Certainly, for a book as bold as it's trying to be, it may be necessary for more exploration with the characters (it's picture book style, but the text has a lot more going on with it than the usual suspect)--not to mention that the characters are also a little bit mean and rude!
For a book that plays around with chronology and drama, it is pretty fun, but I found it lacking something--I just don't know what. Maybe something more is missing than just chapter two!

I like that it makes a point that grammar is important. I like the play with words, social media, cops tied with a silly mystery.

I felt this book had a harsh color palette (only using orange, black, and white for your illustrations is a bold move. One that I am not sure it quite paid off)
Additionally there were WAY TOO MANY WORDS on a page. This could not be done in a storytime and should it be attempted in a one on one sitting, I think a child would get bored.
Ultimately, I did not finish

A really smartly written and fun (and funny) book for kids! The illustrations and creative approach to the title were such a surprising delight!

Don't be surprised when readers take this one with them to the bathroom.... for a very valid reason!

Wordy for a picture book. Silly premise with interesting execution. Might not be a great fit for reading to a group - might work better in lap reading or for kids who can read it themselves.

Amusing, but the concept wore thin by the end. Also not a fan of the words 'stupid' and 'idiot' since I was hoping to use this as a read aloud.
