I enjoyed this romantic suspense but there was a few unbelievable parts to it, including a long amnesia that suddenly disappear. The heroine was plunks and smart and could really hold her own which I really liked.

One of Sandra Brown's best, this book is a super-fast read. Heavy on the suspense with just the right amount of romance. And some of the creepiest bad guys I've seen in quite some time. There are many, many plot twists that keep you guessing right up until the end. There are no loose ends left by the satisfying conclusion. Ms. Brown, keep those romance thrillers coming! I'm hooked!

It wasn't really that interesting in my opinion. I was just hoping for a little more excitement that didn't really make the cut.

Public defender, Kendall Deaton, is happy in her marriage to Matt Burnwood even though she doesn't really like the amount of time he spends with his father or their love for hunting. She overlooks those things until she takes the case of a local woman accused of killing her husband. Kendall wants to use the fact that the woman was being abused as part of her defense, but she is appalled by her husband and father-in-law's attitude, making her realize that she may have made a mistake in marrying Matt.

The first half of The Witness follows different timelines and characters requiring the reader to pay close attention to the story, but also creating layers to add enjoyment of the plot. However, the latter half of the story is over-the-top crazy, with several one dimensional characters that have questionable motivation for their actions. Also, some of the language use is very uncomfortable. There is enough left, though, to keep the reader interested and there is an unexpected twist near the end of the story that ties up some of the loose ends. Overall, The Witness has a great setup, but the execution of the latter half of the story is unimpressive. 3 1/2 stars

i liked this book..not too heavy... woman on the run so she doesnt have to be witness to a crime because she doesnt think the fbi will protect her. guy with amnesia.. i like the way it mixes flashbacks with whats happening now. it makes it much more natural to read than just telling the story in a line. the ending was a little blah, too everything in its place. but overall, a good book.

I received this book as part of Goodreads giveaways and first reads.

This audiobook really emphasised why I shouldn't even bother with audiobooks. I just end up zoning out and using the audio as white noise. I can't just sit back, close my eyes and let the story wash over me. Instead, I go about doing whatever I'm doing, and half the time end up reading something else.

I got about two CDs through before I finally threw up my hands and turned it off. [a:Joyce Bean|564470|Joyce Bean|http://www.goodreads.com/images/nophoto/nophoto-U-50x66.jpg] is a lovely narrator, and apparently has won awards, but I really couldn't pay attention. The story also seemed to be quite interesting, and I think the book would be worth a read, but it wasn't enough to grab me and hold my attention.

So don't take this two out of five star rating to mean this is bad- I just can't really make a sound (pun so, so intended here) decision as audiobooks don't agree with me.

First book to read by Sandra and I absolutely loved it.

The plot of the story didn’t fail to keep my attention and interest at bay to finish reading.

The characters are so vivid and interesting—each one is so different from the other and some of them are just so strong in personality that I really did end up loving some of them (like Rickie Sue) and hated others (like Matt and his father.)

One thing that did bother me, though, was some of the flashbacks to Kendall’s days when her and Matt were fresh into their marriage and she was working. I just felt like it went on a bit too long; I wanted to get back to the present and get on with the story. That’s how much I liked it, lol.

Definitely going to research some of her other books to read!
