There's a lot to like in Princess Ever After if you enjoy the modern fairy tale genre:

A strong-willed, small-town woman discovering her true heritage.
A tormented man facing events from his past that he's worked hard to forget.
A love story.
A rags-to-riches story.
Some pretty fancy cars.

I enjoyed all of that. I love that our heroine doesn't embrace becoming a princess with arms wide open - nor should she, given how complicated the position is. She's not interested in politics, able to see a little right and a little wrong on everyone's side, but politics are exactly why Hessenberg needs her.

The part that was difficult for me was the role that faith played in the story. I'm all for characters turning to their faith for guidance and to help reflect on difficult situations. Faith played a much more direct role in this story - fulfilling, I guess, the fairy godmother role (though not in the traditional makeover sense), but it just didn't sit right with me.

I also found the end to this story a little too quick and uncomplicated. It was sweet, yes, but I wanted something a little bit... more... to do justice to Regina.

Recommended, but with the above as disclaimers.

Love it

A really cute story. Loved the lost princess trope. Loved the couple. Such a sweet story really it was. I loved it

I’m honestly flummoxed as to how this book has such a high rating. It was predictable, aggravating, redundant and had no finesse. I only finished it because I have a goal of books to read this year and didn’t want to waste my precious reading time. But seriously, don’t bother with this book

I was actually somewhat worried when I started this book as I have been burnt out on romances as of late. However, I did really enjoy this book. It appealed to the princess side of me and also had some other great elements to the story. Rachel is a very talented story teller. I loved that we got to see the trip that Regina took from auto mechanic to princess of a country. And all the politics and intrigue just made the book perfect. I would highly recommend this book!!

I liked this book better than Once Upon a Prince. The premise was AMAZING, for one. For two, I liked that the events happened in one window of time, rather than one event, then a break for a few months. Speaking of Nate and Suz, I'm happy we got to see them. :) This book was really good - a long lost princess, a cute love story, a light in the woods - it was all perfect. Oh, and the incorporation of God was done well. Not too much. Overall, a 5 star read.

Oh yeah, and the whole history aspect, fitting into what I've learned from history, but with a couple of fictional countries? Flawless and really cool.

A lot of politics, I enjoyed the book over all but it wasn't a favorite of mine.

I like how down to earth Reggie is she is unsure of course can't blame her for that its a lot to take on.
Tanner was so understanding I kind of loved that about him.

I am not sure about Tanner and his kids, I felt like that was a little out of left field but the way he handles it was kinda awesome.

The narration was good. But I don't think I will try to finish this series.
