I thought I wouldn't like it but it's actually really good. The art is not what I usually look for, but it's well-done nonetheless.

This one is pretty funny. Definitely a moral teacher, but in a very fun way. Eeeew factor too.

I liked this one, but I think I would have liked it better if it had been written by someone who came from the background this book takes place in, not from a white woman.

A story about why you should be honest and also listen to your parents.

I truly wish that the last page entry with bibliography, notes on the initial recording, and list of story types was a standard thing. It makes this book both the great read-aloud picture book that it is and also an actually useful scholarly source. I'm gonna buy myself a copy.

Also the illustrations are great and the story passes muster for both me and the small nephew. We'll be singing along to this one for a while.
