This is a very adorable children's book with amazing illustrations and a great story. What I love is that this could be read to all ages as the sentences are not complex. For younger children it is a chance to learn vocabulary and follow the story whilst being comical, but for older children it is just an enjoyable older picture book. Due to the more basic sentences, when read aloud in the right way, can be funnt ans entertaining for them. Super versatile and a great book!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Stars

We follow a bear who has lost his hat and wants it back. He is very polite and patient as he asks all of the animals he sees if they have seen his hat. Just when all hope is lost, the bear remembers where he has seen his hat. The story ends with a mischievous twist that leaves children laughing.

It is no surprise to me that this book has a 4.8 star rating on Amazon. This is currently my favourite book to pull out to my preschool class when they seem to be in a bit of a silly mood. Great to read out loud and manages to keep my class of 22 fully engaged, they love that they can pick up when certain characters aren't being honest. Jon Klassen's writing is so deadpan and the illustrations are able to convey so much feeling despite the expressions not really changing at all. I also love the message of telling the truth, as well as helping each other out when we have a problem.

This book would be best suited for an adult to read out loud to children 3+.

This is a fantastic picture book mystery for young kids!

From Jon Klassen, this book is a precursor to "This is Not My Hat." These books have become very popular with kids due to the fact that the text and pictures tell different stories. In "I Want My Hat Back," the reader is able to spot the bear's hat before the bear realizes who took it. This brings in a fun element for kids. The book also has fantastic pictures illustrated by Klassen himself. The pictures are simple, but gorgeous and fun. They bring an element of personification and personality to the characters in the story.

The bear is the main character in the book. The story opens with the bear claiming that his hat is gone, and he wants it back. It goes on to show the bear asking multiple other animals if they've seen his hat, to no avail. At the end, after every other animal has said that they haven't seen his hat, the bear realizes that he knows who has it.

This is a great book for beginning readers. It's not too difficult, but it's interesting and fun and can draw attention and make kids enjoy reading.

Jon Klassen's hat books are probably my favorite picture books right now. I cannot wait for the third and final one to come out in October!
