re-reading the first two before i read the newest! it’s always going to be a 5 star- i’ve listened through this 70+ hour podcast several times and read the graphic novels more times than i would like to admit. what can i say? the worlds the mcelroys create always feel like home :) as always i highly recommend!

Not exactly what I thought it was going to be. It’s also not a graphic novel I usually go for. I feel like for me it got better at the end.

A faithful (almost without violating WotC copyright) rendition of the first balance arc. I like how rendered Griffin vs the players.

Normally I would stay far far away this publisher, but I just couldn't resist this book when I saw it. It just sounded too much fun, and I am so happy that I read it. It was funny, it didn't shy away from using certain language (and it fitted perfectly with the situations, sometimes you just need a curse), the spells were hilarious (especially Taako's). I just adored the characters. The chapters were fun (especially that one with a travel reel). I just laughed so so much, and with each passing page it got even more funny. The art was just awesome, that was one of the reasons why I got this book. I also loved seeing the GM pop up at times, hinting to things/helping them. Then there was the twist at the end with the revelation about the crackly sounds and what people were up to with the relics.

This was a lot of fun. A D&D campaign turned graphic novel. I'm looking forward to listening to the podcast it's based on.
