~ 4 Ashes of War Stars ~

Ashes of War is book two in the Sons of War series by Lia Davis. We pick up a few weeks after [b:War's Passion|18275696|War's Passion (Sons of War, #1)|Lia Davis|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1432780548s/18275696.jpg|25744042] and continue in the fight agents Garrick.

Wow the plot thickens. We learn why Ash was sent to spy. We also learn a lot about Ty and the time he was tortured. During that time he lost a part of himself. The author did a great job building on the plot and characters. Their are so many surprises added into this story, that to talk about them, well would just spoil it for you, so all I can say is that I was going OMG and WOW with all the things revealed. We are also introduced to a few new characters that I look forward to reading more about.

As for the romance each couples romance builds in each novel, so I recommend reading in order. You will see the pull and character changes as things progress, new characters come into play, and plot twist get revealed. Ash and Ty’s romance was sweet. These two learn to trust and you see their character growth throughout the story. Both find what they need in each other. That peace and love. There are some hot scenes, but they don’t over take the story.

I had a great time reading Ashes of War and am looking forward to Zavier’s story. It looks like he is the next to fall for his mate!

Ty has been burned by women before and don’t trust them. He feels a pull towards Ash, knows she is his mate, but don’t want to admit to it and tries his best to push her away because of those trust issues. Ty’s story was about the strength it took for a man to forgive/forget and learn to be true to himself.

I liked this part: Ty let out a low growl. "Female, what did I tell you about being in my room?"
Ash face him, brows raised and a smile on her face. "If I got my scent in your space, you'd f**k me until I scream."

Ash knows how Ty feels about women, but she has to gain his trust so that she can help prove his innocence. She also feels the pull, knows that Ty is her mate, and once they admit their feelings things are HOT between them.

I love Ty and Ash together. My favorite part, I think, was when Ash got Ty to let her take off his sunglasses, because that meant that he trusted her to take them off and see the “REAL” Ty and then that is when Ty started to give in to the feelings for her, in my opinion.

This book kept you hooked through the entire book. It was fast paced and the smooth flowing plot keeps readers on the edge with lots of suspense, action, and romance. The author makes you feel like you are there experiencing it with them, because of the detailed descriptions of each scene with well written details that capture the imagination.

I can’t wait to see what happens next with this series in Artemis's Hunt.

If you read book one of the series, [b:War's Passion|18275696|War's Passion (Sons of War, #1)|Lia Davis|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1432780548s/18275696.jpg|25744042] you knew this one was coming--Ty and Ashlynn were giving off some major vibes from the very first time they met, for all of Ty's serious hangups with women.

Though never has a guy had more valid reasons to have hangups where women are concerned...betrayed by two, permanently scarred--both mentally and physically (and almost killed)--by one of them, he wants nothing to do with females.

Ever.

Again.

And he means it.

But then Ash comes along...and his dragon has other ideas. Ideas which Ty tries to resist, which of course is futile.

At first Ash hides her true purpose in seeking out the Sons of War, which is to decide Ty's guilt or innocence in the death of the daughter of a god. But she feels the pull too, and believing him innocent, she admits early on what she's trying to do.

Then all she has to do is find a way to prove Ty's innocence (he can't remember the incident and is afraid he did do it, though he's starting to have dreams that might actually be memories), earn his trust, and get his human side to go along with his dragon's "claim Ash as our mate" plan.

Oh, and dodge Garrick and his bad of descendants and a couple of angry gods. Easy peasy, right? ';)

Just as steamy and action-filled as book one, though considerably longer, I very much enjoyed this one. Next up is a novella with Ash's parents, Artemis and the man she thought she'd lost forever years ago...

With the overarching plot of Garrick's big plan and the story behind the Sons, it makes sense to read this one in series order. Ms. Davis does do a good job of recapping the main info you need, though, so if you haven't read book one (or haven't read it in awhile) you'll probably be okay starting with this one. The narrator once again does a good job of voicing the characters, differentiating between male and female voices with ease.

Please, please, please tell me Elle and Zavier's book is coming soon--it's heavily hinted at in this one, and it's gonna be good! :)
