Very good. If only they'd stop knitting their eyebrows together. Please, author, make them stop.

One sentence summary: she lost her husband on 9/11, brought home someone she thought was him but wasn't, and now she's getting back into the dating scene

I liked this book, but I didn't like it as much as the first one. It was a quick read, but it changed my perspective on some of the characters and I didn't like that.

I finished this book in 3 days. That is unusual for me these days. I used to do it all the time. Now, I have other distractions... including work.... but I just could not put this book down. It was as good as the first book in this two book series.

I could not wait to find out what happened to the characters. I had a feeling how things would end up, right from the first couple of chapters, but the journey was enjoyable and I had no idea the twists and turns that would come up.

I love the fierce devotion to Biblical living and a real relationship with our Lord and Savior, the Bible reading and seeking the Lord's direction. Wonderful. The characters are real, not fussy or prudish, they have real problems and trials. They live in a realistic and evil world.

"Tears stung at Jamie's eyes, but she resisted them. She put one hand on Jake's Bible. Beside her, within her, she could feel the Lord watching, standing guard, even though she hadn't heard Him speak to her that night. He was there and he would see her through..." (pg 97)
"'...Crying is ok, you know why?'
'Why?' Sierra's eyes were damp too. The day was bound to be hard for both of them.
'Because if you cry a lot when you say good-bye, it means you loved a lot.'" (pg 295)

I highly recommend the first book in the series - One Tuesday Morning; and this one.
It was good to rethink things about the tragedy of 9/11 and it helped me deal with a few personal issues as well.

The writing is just so wonderful. Characterization so great. This book had too much in the way of melodramatic coincidences for me to give it a 5-star. That sort of thing just grates on me. But it is a testament to Kingsbury's skill that I was willing to ignore it and enjoy the rest.
