This was an enjoyable, quick read. However, the ending was not a surprise for me. There was some decent character development for the main character.

This was a really good and interesting ghost story. I usually don't like to read ghost stories but this book was very well written and the story was great. I'd highly recommend it.

If there were such a thing as a "B-Horror" novel...this would definitely qualify. Much like a b-horror movie the overused imagery, superfluous horror tropes, and truly horrible dialogue made it nearly humorous.
I finished the read, mostly, because I was interested to see how many more tropes could possibly be included when I was already %50 in, and feeling absolutely astounded by the cliched story-line, and incredulous character development. Unfortunately, it seems like the novel wanted to cover every possible trope or cliche you've ever hear of: inherited house with horrible family secret, inherited paranormal gift, love interest with the perfect past to believe unbelievable paranormal gift etc.
I'm not sure this is a good read to recommend to anyone, except (possibly) for an analysis of contemporary horror tropes and cliches.

Great book. Had a few turns in it so you didn't know what was coming.

I am very reluctant to give lower reviews, but this book just felt.... disjointed, to me. I didn't feel that the sentences flowed together nicely. This is very subjective, though, and the plot of the book was pretty good. There was one twist that I really enjoyed. All in all, an easy read.

Enjoyed the concept of amateur medium solving a murder that happened years ago. Aside some slow parts in the book, it was a nice read of an amateur sleuth.

Started good, became a tad slow, then BANG! Captured my attention and even spooked me a little! Overall I really enjoyed this read and look forward to reading more from this author in this series!
