I read the machine translated (english) version of this story, as provided for the Hugo Voters' pack, 2023.
Rescues in space were a staple of the stories I read when I was younger; this one is a great example of the type. The plot and pacing were great, very readable, despite the occassional glitch in translation. I found the characterisation mostly good, and the bits that I noticed as strange were dialogue that I suspect has lost some kind of idiomatic meaning.
