Delightfully weird. I have a love/hate relationship with short stories collections but it made me want to pick up more of this author's work!

At some point you just have to accept that you're not picking a book up again any time soon, sometimes it takes you about 2 years to realise.

I really liked how this story built upon itself. But I think I need a break from these sort of surreal Japanese books.

A collection of entwined stories set in a small town, telling the tales of the quirky townsfolk who live there.

Strangely charming and compelling, these shorts made me smile.

i enjoyed this. read the whole thing in about an hour. all of the stories are 3-5 pages so very quick to read. very entertaining

it's only thanks to a boring work day that i was able to finish this book. it was so difficult to finish despite being less than 200 pages long. i had the most difficult time reading this because i wanted to sleep so bad with every story i read.
i thought this would be an easy read because the stories were so short but i was proven wrong when i found out how boring the stories were. although the characters were mentioned multiple times, you can't actually form an attachment to them because some of them don't even have names and they only have one personality trait.
i think this book would have done better if it were a collection of HORROR stories, because i think the writing style would really be perfect for that.

oh well. at least i can cross this off my list.

and with this book, my yearly reading goal has been achieved!
