Excellent work presenting (& balancing) facts, beliefs, rumors, personal & professional, of the two bands & how they relate to each other. Friendly but not dumbed-down writing style. Valuable context without wandering too far into tangents.

This book isn't an attempt to arrive at an answer to the question in the title. Instead, it's a thoughtful take on the differences between the two bands, and where they dovetail and how they fit together. It lags a bit at the end, before the Beatles' break-up (Allen Klein really kills the mood every time), but I really did think that there was some new Beatles' stuff in this that made it worth reading. And as I know next-to-nothing in-depth about the Stones, I enjoyed reading more about them.
