Maybe I'm in a foul mood, but I felt indifferent towards this volume. Moments I knew would've usually had me shed a tear or two, had no effect on me whatsoever. A lot happens in this manga but I didn't care about most of it. This manga has such a huge focus on alchemy, but you barely see it anymore.

Barry is a pain in the ass and I've had enough of that creep. I probably would've put it down if it weren't for Al and Armstrong.

Almost halfway through, I'm remembering how good this series is. Hands down my favourite manga and anime (the Brotherhood series).

Fullmetal Alchemist is the story of the Alphonse and Edward Elric. After an alchemic transmutation gone wrong, Ed and Al are on a mission to get back their original bodies. This is one of my favorite anime series and I'm really enjoying finally reading the manga.

After all the excitement of the last volume, Ed, Winry and Al are headed back to Central Command. The trio finally learns the sad news we learned back in volume 4. The feelings are still so real!! The characters from Xing continue to be around and there's a couple scenes with Sheska who is adorable.

As with all the volumes, the comics/jokes at the end of the volume are delightful and definitely help with the heavy feelings you acquire during the regular volume!

The Elric brothers and Winry travel to Central and finally learn of the death of Hughes. Things get a lot more violent when Mustang seeks revenge for Hughes’ murder and Barry the Chopper instigates a prison break.

It feels like things are starting to heat up with hopefully some revelations coming up soon in the next couple of volumes.
