I loved Gillian Flynn's first two books. I like dark, twisted, psychological tales and she definitely delivered in the first two. I admit that I started this book twice. For some reason I just couldn't get past the first two chapters the first time. But, when several friends raved I started it again and boy am I glad I did. It doesn't grab you right away like the previous two but once you get involved it definitely keeps you interested.

There isn't much more I can say without giving lots away. I just wonder how Gillian Flynn comes up with the diabolical thinking her characters exhibit.

I think listening to this on audiobook really added a lot to the experience. I found myself excited to need to drive places because I would get to listen to more of the story. I think the audiobook really added to Amy's different personas (diary/lying Amy, actual Amy) and showed Nick's genuine feelings versus his saving face moments.

One of my favorite things about this book was the way it constantly made me change my views on the characters. Diary Amy made me HATE Nick, then Runaway Amy made me really proud of Amy, then after that I just kind of started to hate both of them and feel a tiny bit sorry for Nick. The ending kind of made me mad, but I think that was the point. As Go said at some point, they were addicted to each other and couldn't leave without destroying themselves. Excited to watch the movie soon, hope it does it justice.
