The whole shifter thing came out of left field. It was as if the author wanted to
write a cowboy book and in the middle of writing it she decided she wanted to include shifters, but was too lazy to change anything of what she had already written. And it doesn’t come up until about 60% in.
There's no worldbuilding, the writing is sloppy and it lacks proper descriptions.

Bit quick. The book doesn't state pages but I can guess it isn't big 30-50 pages?

I have the Kindle Unlimited version of this book and sadly I didn't truly enjoy this story. It's very short and if you don't read the preview the backstory seems rushed. The couple doesn't have many conversations before sex and while love/lust can happen fast with shifters, this didn't even have the build to it. I was temporarily confused as well as to whether shifters were known in this world or not. Jess made it seem like a secret but then tells Donna her ex is a werewolf. Going in to this series, I'm not sure if things will be better with the longer stories or its just the characters for this story.

Cute short story about how Jess moves on after divorcing her abusive ex. I'm not sure who ends a relationship and moves to the middle of nowhere after buying a ranch she knows nothing about running, but that's exactly what Jess did.

There she meets Wyatt, hot alpha bear and ranch hand when she needs one.
Jess' crazy ex makes a reappearance and the wolves and bears battle it out.

The story was enjoyable though it was too short for much in the way of character development.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
