Absolutely loved this book! I can’t wait to read more from Susan Grant :3

Kelly and Hawk’s relationship was so sweet and the story was cleverly written and very believable (not as wild as other alien books but fun all the same)

This was a military style romance with a sci fi alien twist.
I read a lot of a sci fi romance, but I normally steer away from military theme romances. the focus on their work and Kelly's personality were not to my preference but the romance aspect was fine.
I wasn't a fan of the drama around the DNA testing or the CONSTANT references to Top Gun. I get it, you fly, but the movie came out in 1986 - please don't let it be what defines Earth pop culture to aliens.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have to admit there were a couple of places in this story where I smiled and was swept along in the story.

That said, I didn't realize the book is novella length. Fated mates in a novella length book usually makes for a degree of insta-love that I have trouble buying into and this book was no exception. The graphic content was certainly hot enough to hang the "1 handed read" moniker on, though.

I didn't hate it, but I didn't really like it either. Readers who prefer more romance and less story in their romance would find it enjoyable, I suspect. I'm a bit more demanding of romance.
