Drex Easton is working undercover to track the serial killer that murdered his mother, Lyndsay Cummings. He believes the man Weston Graham, aka Daniel Knolls, aka Jasper Ford is the murderer, and he will do whatever he can to bring him down. When he and his teammates, Gif and Mike track Ford (his current alias) to Charleston, Drex pretends to be an author working on a novel. He manages to rent a garage apartment next to Ford and his wife, Talia Shafer. Naturally, Talia is a beauty and Drex is immediately taken with her. When Talia and Jasper's friend, Elaine, is found murdered, the stakes climb higher.
This is a tale of tracking a serial killer with a bit of romance thrown in, the romance happens in all Brown's novels.
Not too heavy, not too dark, but a satisfying thriller with some sexy romance scenes.

I really wanted to like this but I found female lead character too inhuman.

I would LOVE a sequel so we can close out all those cold cases!

The epilogue was the most interesting twist. The killer was a bit cliche but it fills that niche.

4.5 stars for me…
The writing got a bit confusing. I like multiple POVs, but they’re usually labeled and in their own chapter. This was not the case for this book. Not a huge deal, obviously, I’m just a bit spoiled lol.
Other than that, even though there wasn’t a big mystery reveal, it made me not want to put it down. The cat & mouse storyline was great. I would definitely recommend to people that are a fan of mysteries. I should warn you, if you’re not into smut, there are some parts in this book you may not enjoy.
