A really really touching Christmas story about lost love, regrets, and a chance or a push to live one’s life fully and truthfully.

When Micah spies a body along the side of the road and saves the broken young man, he never thought it would forever change his life. Little does he, nor Greg, the man he saved, know that fate has a funny way of revealing some shocking truths and bringing an amazing turn of events to both their lives.

This is brimming with emotions and sentimentality, and it was probably one of the most touching holiday reads I’ve read in a long time.

If you want to be moved, if you want to feel, and if you want the holiday spirit to rejuvenate your belief in love, in perhaps second chances, and to definitely renew your faith in the goodness of people, then this is it.

Bittersweet amongst some awful tragedy with a dash of sexy, this was both hopeful and uplifting with truly wonderful feels. The only thing missing was that much coveted epilogue.

This was a sweet, feel-good Christmas story with very little angst that left me with a smile on my face.

Micah’s family taking Greg in when he was injured seemed plausible under the circumstances, and the affection between Greg and Micah built gradually over time, rather than being insta-love. Joshua and Naomi were fun side characters that I enjoyed, and the underlying message about treasuring the time you have with your loved ones was poignant without being overbearing. This definitely put me more in the mood for Christmas!

3.5 stars... because it was too sweet. The people in it... and I mean ALL the people in it was just soo glossy and sweet and way over the top... just soo open, just soo honest and just soo loving. Just soo idyllic, accepting, and embracing. Bad things did happen, but even the subsequent consequences and nightmares felt glossed over. Secrets and tough decisions, was not really that hard... at least it didn't seem so hard. It felt like a rainbow, wonderland snow globe with a couple of bad people thrown in to make an artificial contrast to all the lovely, shinny people. There can not be a Christmas story without a grinch.
I don't know... I guess a lot of people will like it. It was well written, short and sweet. It was just magic and miracles. It just wasn't my kind of magic.

Sweet slow burn romance with moments of heartbreak

This is such a lovely Christmas read. There are times of sadness with recent bereavement for both Micah and Greg but the two men, along with Joshua, Micah's dad, and Naomi, Micah's sister bring a sense of comfort, healing and Christmas.
Micah comes across Greg by the side of the road, badly beaten, and stays with him once he gets the man to ER. A link to his father means Greg is welcomed into the family home, giving him a chance to recover from his injuries and get to know the man that saved his life and an older man who can shed some light on his own father.
I love how this story is written. Everything flows really well and whilst there are a few moments that might draw a tear, it's therapeutic for the characters and brings them closer together. The family feel is so close and you can sense the bond they have even as they lean on each other for support. Once attraction and feelings become involved, there's another aspect to enjoy and the slow nature of it makes it feel more natural for the MC's.
Definitely a story I'd recommend. It's not all light and fluffy but it's worth it to get the healing and love that shines through.

This was super sweet. Like, take the schmaltziness of The Waltons and distill it down to it's purest, most saccharine form and you have A Christmas Promise. I don't mean that in a bad way; just as a description. Because if low conflict, low angst sweetness is your comfort read—and I know it is for a lot of people—then this book is for you.

I didn't dislike it, but I also feel like low angst can run awful close to not enough conflict to carry a plot sometimes and my preference is for a bit more grit in a story. But, all in all, this is a perfectly passable Christmas read that will fill the bill more for some than others.

3.5/5 stars.
This is a Christmas theme book, so you kinda already know this has a HEA ending.
The story is about Micah who finds Greg on the side of the road 'cause assholes beat him up pretty good.
So he gets him to the ER and that's when they found out Greg was looking for Micah's dad, Joshua.
Long time ago, Joshua and Greg's father, Hayden, were friends. Actually more than that. They loved each other but some shit happened and they never got the chance to be happy. They did got married butit didn't work out for either of them.
Hayden died from cancer but before the pain took him away, he wrote a letter for Joshua, and Greg wanted to deliver it in person.
Destiny brought them together, so by all means, Greg stays at Joshua and Micah's house so he can heal his broken leg.
And of course, he's getting feelings for Micah, and he feels good around the Trent family. He feels safe and comfy in this new home.
Truth is that they are good, heart-warming people. Even the little sister is a charm in her own way.

I think this is quite pleasant to read because the characters are loving, fun, sarcastic and a little bit of sassy.
I wish I had a family like this.
I wish coming out was as easy as this.
But welp, what can you do?
I do recommend this book for the Xmas season.
