i might need to reread this knowing the ending, because some things just aren't adding up.

but i did thoroughly enjoy this book, despite the ethics & morals involved.

The Teacher is a book that I was very excited to read as I have heard so many great things about Freida McFadden being the queen of plot twists, which I live for! With that being said, the twists were good, and they were somewhat shocking, but they weren't knock-me-off-my-chair shocking, which is what I'm looking for. I want a twist that will leave me thinking about it for days. This book didn't quite do that for me, along with the fact that it was quite some time before anything notable happened at all. I also found a few plot holes and inconsistencies, along with a few things that didn't make complete sense. These were pretty minor though, and I can look past them to the bigger picture, which is that, overall, this book is a page-turner that I wanted to constantly have my eyes on because I NEEDED to figure it out. I think my slight disappointment in the lack of a big shock factor was more from me setting my expectations to an unreasonably high level based on things I have heard. I still very much enjoyed this book and will buy more Frieda McFadden novels very soon because I'm excited to see what other twisty stories she has to tell. Who knows, maybe the next one will knock me out of my chair with its twists!

Good pallet cleanser, like any thriller. Quick read, which I needed after getting through a long series (Iā€™m looking at you 800+ page crescent city book šŸ‘€)

I went in blind so I had no idea what to expect. I would strongly suggest looking at the trigger warnings.
Overall, I gave it 3 āļø for being a quick, page turner and most of the story being captivating. But lost me at the end.

I didnā€™t know there would be pedophilia. So, beware. I feel like the ending was so rushed. The girls finally tell the police about Nate but then heā€™s buried alive and the police just drop the caseā€¦ I felt like I didnā€™t get to see justice served. Like, I get they said thereā€™s nothing more terrifying to him than death, but Iā€™m supposed to believe all those girls finally come forward and they are ok that he just disappeared? And then the twist at the end that Eve was doing the same thing to Hudson AKA ā€œJayā€ just didnā€™t sit well for me.
