A Black Library Advent Calendar short audio drama giving a glorious glimpse at the vile genius and madness of the former Chief Apothecary of the Emperor's Children, the Primogenitor, the Repairer of Ruin, the Riff Raff lookalike, Fabius Bile.
Fabius and his cohort of guinea pigs and experiments that, like a John Carpenter gang, have impressive representation, boasting elements of every former legion, make war on the Daemon World of Lupercalia, home to the remains of the Arch-Traitor, Horus.
This is just a lot of fun and serves bother as a wonderful bridge between the Horus Heresy and the Dark Millennium and as highlighting how ridiculous and silly Warhammer is (complimentary). There's just something very amusing about this warped medical officer making Frankenstein look small fry and pontificating and having his lobotomised killing machines take notes of the nonsense he spouts...which maybe says something about me.
There's not enough whimsy in the grimdarkness, but this demonstrates that you can go whimsy and grimdark at the same time.

On the third day of Christmas Black Library gave to us…a Fabius Bile audio drama by Josh Reynolds. Fabius Bile : Repairer of Ruin follows the self-styled Primogenitor as he leads his malformed minions on a mission to steal the preserved body of Horus. With the assault on Lupercalia carrying on around him, Fabius has his eyes set on a bigger prize than merely punishing the Sons of Horus for the sins of their father; once he has Horus’ body in his possession he can once again turn his attention to replicating the genetic code of the Primarchs.
