o.5 point reduction simply because from this book onward Patricia Briggs is doing the Sam dirrty by removing him from the character roster once he is no longer a love interest for the main character. I didnt like "ship" him as her love interest at all, but he (andBran) has such an interesting history, we just barely got a glimpse of, and Patricia made us observe and connect with him ..  just to cast him aside down the road :/

Briggs keeps things interesting. Nothing stale here. We follow Mercy through her wedding and to the honeymoon. We learn more about her and her heritage of coyote. The trusty walking stick makes another appearance. The pack and more familiar characters take a backseat.

Perfectly Mercy Thompson, a good page turner, still my favorite supernatural series. Briggs always does good research on myths and legends.

This is book 6 in the series and I’m happy to say that the series is still going strong. So far was only one book I didn’t like as much as the other. This book was one of the ones I really enjoyed.
