My only issue with this story is how some side characters’ appearances are described in a negative way. Not a fan of that.

Powerful story about about one young boy's struggle to handle adult situations. I enjoyed the characters and the quick pace of the story. Quite the indictment of the school system and how easy it is for a bad teacher to harm a child's self esteem. This book is an important reminder to everyone that there are such a thing as untrustworthy adults.
Moderate: Child abuse

I don't know how I feel about this book for the age level it is written for. I guess I would like my kids to live in an oblivious bubble. It deals with a boy who was sexually abused by a neighbor and wants to forget it. It's handled very well, no details at all... just a difficult subject.
