This was a real pleasure to read. Great pace, clear prose, insight in every line. Bit bathos-heavy in the final chapters but like a deluxe edition of an already great record the bonus tracks are still appreciated.

Moravia constructs a razor sharp, slow-burning thriller that speaks volumes of a morally corrupt political system and the people that stood for it.

I liked the movie a little more. I think it made good decisions on what to cut. Sometimes his obsession with normalcy is a little over the top. He also has a weird obsession with the foreheads of a couple women. Not really sure what to make of the gay parts.
