I was excited for this one, I'd heard good things and the blurb seemed interesting. I always love a thriller that has multiple layers. In this case trying to work out what happened to Matt in the present, as well as what happened in 1996.

There were some good twists and I would recommend this to anyone who likes a good thriller, but it wasn't the most realistic in terms of police investigations. They didn't seem to dig into any publically available information and had to be fed it by other characters, and the questioning was very up and down.

It was a 4 star for most of the story but started to go downhill as the book went on. 3.5 stars rounded down to 3 in total

I felt that the book started out strong. I was quickly interested in what happened to Matt that he would disappear two weeks before his wedding to Amy. However, there was so much repetitiveness that I quickly became bored. Also, there were 4 pov's and I found that to be confusing at times.

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Vow took me a while to get into if I'm being honest. Even though things were slowly catching my attention, I just wasn't in the right mindset to dive into this. Eventually I was able to get out of my weird funk and just sit back and watch everything unfold.

In this, you will meet two women who are with the same man. Whether it's an engagement, marriage, or a known affair - things were just rubbing me the wrong way. So when the guy removes himself from the equation and is now "missing", well, things get interesting.

Throughout the book, I didn't know who's side I was going to end up on. Yes, at first I felt bad for a certain someone. Then I felt bad for the other. Both honestly had motive to kill the guy because he was a huge scumbag who betrayed them (in some way).

In the end, it had potential to be a bit better in my eyes. It just felt like things were kind of anticlimactic in some areas when I was expecting something bigger. Still, I enjoyed the book and I'm glad that I got the opportunity to jump into it.

This is a very readable suspense novel.

Matt goes missing leaving his soon to be bride Amy wondering what has gone on and who is the other woman who has also reported him missing.

While you think the story will go along one path, there's an added layer to it and it gets interesting.

If I had to describe this book in one word, it would be gripping. I seriously couldn't put this down because of the excellent pacing and well-timed plot twists and reveals. The story follows two women, both of whom have been at the heart of an accident and victims of betrayal and accusations. Amy's soon-to-be husband has run away and as if that wasn't enough she finds out he was planning on leaving her. From there it's a mystery as they try to find Matt or even his killer and fingers start flying everywhere.

This book was just so well-paced and yet again we see women in toxic relationships who are too blind with love to notice anything. My heart went out for Amy and I really enjoyed reading about her as she tried t solve the mystery her life became. Since this book is told in multiple point of views though, you get really confused as to what is real because every character paints their own narrative and this certainly takes the story to a whole new level. There's an aspect of herbalism to the story that gives it almost a witchy wibe which I absolutely loved because I spent half of the book wondering if any witchcraft or magic was involved.

I believe I found this as a sort of psychological thriller and while I'm not sure I would pitch it as that, I would recommend this book if you're a fan of mysteries that lapse over two timelines and have a sort of what-is-really-happening aspect.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley but this hasn't influenced my review in any way

I really enjoyed the beginning of this book The beginning was engaging and entertaining. It gave me all the predictable mystery vibes. Somewhere towards the middle of the plot I just felt like I was just stuck. I kept waiting for the real story to unfold. Towards the end I didn't really feel connected anymore. So overall there were parts that were enjoyable. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars - a good quick read, but I predicted the ending at around the 82%, and turns out I was right. I loved the dual viewpoints of Amy vs Fiona, and how I wasn't sure who to believe there for awhile! The ending wrapped up nicely as well, with no loose ends.
