I enjoyed parts of this book. I appreciated Paulina's openness and humanness.
She just tries a little too hard, tries to make a lesson out of things that may mean a lot to her, but frankly don't make a lot of sense.

I could relate to many of Paulina’s thoughts on women and aging in this book. She felt like a kindred spirit. I enjoyed this book of essays.

I appreciate Paulina’s candor and attitude about life but this book was not good. It was like popping in on conversation or hearing someone’s inner dialog strung together and calling it an essay. Random and boring. Seems like a lovely person though :-)

Very candid and reflective. I love how Paulina told her journey of acceptance and forgiveness. She genuinely loved her husband and was deeply hurt by both his passing and 'betrayal'. She struggled with both grief and anger. She had to juggle between being a wife, a mother, and her own woman. The part where she described how she was used to 'getting through a house from the chimney instead of the door' was deeply profound and somehow made sense to me. I also love how she discussed the concept of beauty and aging. This book made me realize that finding yourself is a hard and constant journey.

There is a special kind of honesty and vulnerability that accompanies an autobiography. No filter had me relive, rethink and reframe some of my own experiences. Perhaps it even lent me some forgiveness for myself. and for that I am eternally grateful.

Paulina has lived an extraordinary life, and she shares candidly from the good, the bad, and everything in between. Written in essay form, she lets people into her mind in a way that many people would never allow, and it's that vulnerability which makes the story she shares so special.

I am only aware of who Paulina Porizkova is due to the CBS TV series Beyond the Edge. It was intriguing to learn about her and her life through her memoir.
