Poor writing was distracting. When I read about attempted rape, I no longer wanted to continue the book.

I enjoyed the mixing of genealogy and mystery. However, I found that the main character was somewhat annoying and the book concentrated too much on what was happening in her marriage. It became distracting.

I'm hoping that like most mystery series the first book lays the ground work, then the other books are more focused.

Family secrets can be deadly! I enjoyed it, but I wish Katharine hadn't blabbed so much.
