Damn....after reading each poem, I let the book fall to my breast. Feeling myself come too alive, I had to look up at the muted T.V. to dull myself back down, near the flatlines where I keep myself dead. These poems tempted me to live again and feel all the consequences.

My favorite poems from this body of work: "Clinch Avenue, Knoxville, April 1994" and Newton and the Screw."

"Legends of Mexican Lesbian Junkies and real minorities,
the ecstasy of small concentric circles in between
the legs of women,
and the practice of schoolgirls with thick-trunked pencils,
your stories snake along the veins,
climb the twisted nameless night-blooming vine."
