I'm a huge fan of Sarah MacLean, but this book didn't it the mark as well as some of her other series.
I didn't fell pulled into the story, although I really like Sesily, the main character. She is strong, independent and doesn't care about people's opinions at a time where she should have been quite and just accepted everything that was thrown at her. I love how she is unapologetically herself even when she meets Caleb. She knows what she wants and she goes for it. Caleb too accepts her as she is, but actually encourages her by being at her side. I don't know if I will continue the series, but I'm tempted because I would love to know what happens to Sesily's comrades.

Well, I am ready for more! Sarah MacLean never disappoints. I will probably listen to this again before returning it to the library.

Such a strong start to this series! I loved the dynamic here, the way Sesily refuses to give up on Caleb and teaches him what it means to not be alone, the way the women rally to save each other and him. So good in print and in audio, with MJW.
