I just couldn't get into this. Neither the story, the artwork, or the narrative really did anything for me. There was a glimmer of a good idea, but... it just didn't bear fruit for me.

Tuve este manga atascado en mi biblioteca por años, realmente no sé porqué ya que todo lo que hace Clamp me llama mucho la atención. Comencé a leerlo y sentí algo confusa la premisa de la historia. Quizás tiene que ver con las palabras específicas de la obra (cuyos significados están detallados con asteriscos).
En este primer tomo nos encontramos a una vieja sacerdotisa pidiéndole un favor a un soldado retirado, Ryu Faye Kazuhiko. La misión: transportar un objeto de sumo valor estatal. Sin embargo, nuestro protagonista advierte que es una encomienda especial, ya que se le brinda un sello particular. Es entonces cuando descubre que el "objeto" es en realidad una chica alada...
El dibujo es excelente, como es usual en Clamp. Y a medida que la historia prosigue vemos cuan enraizados están los poderes y la tecnología en este mundo distópico. Me interesó así que voy a seguir leyendolos!

Una historia un tanto particular y de las pocas que no había leído de las CLAMP. El formato en que está diseñado hace que las hojas se pasen muy rápido, pero, de alguna manera, siento como si faltara información o al menos un poco más de contexto para entender al 100% la historia.
De todas formas, se entiende que al prota le encargan la misión de transportar a una chica que resulta ser un Clover de 4 hojas. Al parecer los Clover son individuos con poderes increíbles y mantenerlos a raya cuesta muchísimo por lo que, es más conveniente aislarlos del mundo exterior.
Así mismo, durante todo el volumen vemos como poco la chica escucha una canción una y otra vez y, al igual que la letra, solo está buscando un lugar donde pueda ser plenamente feliz.
Ahora bien, me gusta el arte, se me hace interesante esa combinación de cyber punk con lo soft de las CLAMP y espero que en el siguiente volumen se respondan algunas preguntas o al menos que se entienda mejor de qué va todo esto.

Certain aspects of this manga felt similar to Clamps other work that I read, Chobits. Which is one of my all time favorite manga.
Kazuhiko and Sue have this very strange but beautiful dynamic with one another. And I like the song that repeats throughout the novel and setting into the new world.
Although the further I go through, I grow increasingly confused. Hopefully it'll begin to make more sense.

Ich bin noch nicht ganz drin, da ich die Hauptstory noch zu wenig verstehe - das ist definitiv einer der Manga von CLAMP, in dem schwierig ist, die Charaktere und die Hintergründe voll zu erfassen -, aber ich bin investiert und habe das Gefühl, der Band könnte trotzdem der Auftakt zu einer guten und interessanten Geschichte sein.
Zeichnerisch ist der Manga sehr schön und ich mag auch, dass er visuell nicht so dicht ist. Es gibt wenig detaillierte Hintergründe, dafür viele detaillierte Figuren. Dementsprechend lässt er sich auch gut lesen und man wird nicht visuell überfordert.
Summa summarum finde ich den Manga erst mal eher mittelmäßig, da ich schwer reingekommen bin und mir grade noch fast alles unklar ist. Mal sehen, wie sich das mit den Folgebänden ändert.
Bin gespannt, wie es weitergeht.

Highly disappointed, being I tend to adore CLAMP's mangas. But this one was way too weird. The story felt disjointed, and it simply doesn't flow. It's rather hard to understand what's going on, or what the plot is supposed to be. Won't be continuing the series.

A beautiful and melancholy story about love and happiness with absolutely gorgeous art. Seriously, I wish there were more manga like this published in Germany. The panel layout alone was stunning and very, very fitting. At times it felt like a visual poem - the plot actually isn't that very interesting, or at least it wasn't to be. But visually it was utterly fascinating. Big thank you to Kate who gifted this to me. <3

Honestly, I'm not really that into CLAMP. I keep trying, I really do, but I only truly like Chobits very much. I'll keep trying, just because I feel like I should, since they're super important to the history of manga.
But we've read this before, folks. Ex-military-type bishonen in the future or alternate universe or something, is hired to pick up and deliver a mysterious girl with mysterious powers. Dangers ensues.
The art is so sparse as to be almost non-existent. Like, I feel like this is CLAMP at their laziest. There are whole pages with one or two tiny panels and so much blank space that I weep for the trees used for this. The dialogue is minimal, ergo confusing, and it all seems a bit pretentious. So, no, I'm not into this one at all.
