This is definitely about to become my guilty pleasure series. The writing isn't great, but that can happen in a lot of light novels due to translation issues, so I'm not too upset. I believe it was also a web novel initially which didn't spark the most confidence, however I'm not disappointed at all. I'm also very glad I picked up the light novel instead of the manga, from what I've heard the adaptation is lacking a lot in character development.

That said, the character development here is just kinda basic. It's about as interesting as you'd think it is for a semi-generic isekai, though I was interested by background characters in this which is a notable change. We don't get to see a lot of the characters other than Naofumi, but the ones we do catch here and there are intriguing to me for some reason. We do definitely have unreliable narrator syndrome, at least I hope we do, considering some descriptions.

All in all, not the perfect series? But fun as hell and something I'm gonna be continuing.

Another Isekai to test out the genre and this was pretty good :) I don't think this type of genre and writing is really my favorite so I don't know how much I want to really get into it but the overall vibe of this book was alright! I can imagine that someone who liked the video game vibe and heroic aspects a bit more would enjoy this more than I did !

Wow, just wow, Amazing.
This connected with my soul. I cried when the MC sobbed when the cute racoon girl assuring him that everything is going to be okay.

Finally, after Goblin Slayer, I found a light novel, I deeply loved!
Going to cherish the moments I spent with this series!

The way the author describes the perspective of Raphtalia made me feel a lot of emotions. She suffered a lot but still she was so strong. I loved her character. Meanwhile, Naofumi is a peculiar character due to his personality. He suffered a betrayal after trusting these new people who he met in this new world he was forced to be in. However, after meeting Raphtalia and many adventures more, you can see the development in his personality and even though he acts tough and cold, he is warm hearted. I really liked the story and the plot as well even though it’s not as impressive as in other stories, the way it is developed is how it catches your attention.
