An absolutely perfect summer read. A patio banger. I enjoyed every minute of my time with this story and I'm sad that it's over. My fave Lisa Jewell book (so far) is The Night She Disappeared, and this gave me those same vibes. (It's not a similar book, I just enjoyed it as much.) A slow burn mystery but you're so invested with the people and the story every step of the way. How I love something that's beachy and summery but with darkness lurking at the edges. TINGLES. You might guess the reveals in this, but it's all about the journey. This will be one of my top reads of the year.

Great read! I loved this story. The characters were well developed, everything was well described and set up. It was easy to follow! This book kept me reading, I really wanted to find out what happened. The twist at the end was great!

**I do not give audiobooks star ratings as I cannot analyze the prose**
Audiobook Rating: just ok | Performance: 3/5 | Plot: 2.5/5 | Ending: Classic Lisa Jewell
Why do I keep reading Lisa Jewell when I've never rated a book of hers higher than 3 stars? Great question. It's because my dumbass thrifted a ton of her books before reading any of them, and I'm determined to clean out my physical tbr, so I just gotta slog through it

This is my third book by Lisa Jewell and I really enjoyed it! I really like the way this one and The Family Upstairs is told. They have 3 perspectives and one is in a different timeline. We have to figure out how all 3 perspectives are connected. I always think I am going to guess the ending really early in the book and I never do. She always manages to surprise me, and she might become one of my favorite authors in 2021.
