- reading this series is exactly like watching the movie but with more attention to details/frames etc
- howl is so whiny and lovely, and sophie is just so Cool
- this movie/novel is really magical in the way that sure you can understand all the details but there's also charm in not understanding what exactly goes down with the demon deal,,,, it's vibes only
- oh i feel so emo now
- am compelled to share this wlw howl/sophie art: https://twitter.com/rudebeetle/status/1120349567390756864?s=19

I watch the anime before I read the manga and it's basically the same.

I thought this was a really cute story. I loved the world building and the moving castle. My criticisms would be that it dragged a bit in the middle to the end and then all of a sudden seemed rushed. I still l liked it and may read the other books in the series at some point. I am looking forward to watching the movie.

To quote my husband: “It was weird and ridiculous and the best characters were completely hopeless. I loved it.”

Instantly became my favorite when I younger, and remains my favorite book to this day. Somehow, I seem to get something new out of this book every time I reread it (and I reread it often, which is very unusual for me!).
I enjoy the female protagonist (gasp!) and respect her as a person (gaspgasp!), and I continually fall deeper in love with the male lead (and Calcifer, too).
Jones is great for children's fantasy, and her writing can be well enjoyed by adult as well.
