Normally I hate short stories. It takes an absolute master for the form for me to actually want to read them; for me to become engrossed in the intimate details and miniature world established in only a few pages. That's Nabokov.

Brilliant collection of short stories - would have received 5 stars if maybe one or two stories matched the quality of the rest. Nabokov’s prose is observant and he articulates everyday experiences (as well as the occasional weirdly niche feeling) with such clarity that it really leaves an impression.

All in all; short story collection supremacy!
