Tasty!!!!!! I knew everyone loved this book and I anticipated it to be a little trashier, probably because I am a pretentious misogynist. This was a great book!!!!! GORGEOUS character psychology and excellently paced. Very very tasty. I would recommend this to most women and understanding men.
Finished at D’s house in my second to last week of NZ. A pleasant escape.
(P.S. i’m laughing at other reviews complaining about lewd language. Very true to the modern crime genre ! Nothing crazy!)

4 stars for the spectacular writing but for giving me bad headache. Darn, Amy WAS Amazing. She did amaze me with how crazy her brain can work. LOL.

-----------------

Like what the plot says, marriage can be a killer and it perfectly fits what the whole novel is all about. Throughout the chapters, you will discover A LOT of mysteries being unfolded one by one - lies being spoken, admitted and then apologized for and there are myriad of treasure hunting! Amy loves making his man think, as in think the way she thinks and she feels it’s cheesy and lovable but it never is. Nick isn’t the analyzing type. He wants everything to work easily. He wants to just be the man Amy will live forever with, have family with. Sadly, no marriage is perfect. Even if Amy tries to perfect her marriage and her mama’s-boy-husband Nick, nothing’s going to work the way she wanted because nobody and nothing’s ever perfect. As a result, there’s sick, pretentious marriage and gone Amazing Amy.

Meanwhile, this novel is written in first person and displays two sides of main characters, Amy and Nick. I enjoy this type of writing just as I enjoyed Legend because I get both sides but this is also where all the WHY's are answered but it's up to how you analyze it if one of them is right or wrong and what are lies or truths.

You’ll literally know what kind of headache I’m talking about when you start reading this. Plus, this novel is crazy! While horror and suspense standout as I unwrap one mystery after another, there are also hints of freaking humor. You might get crazy laughing and getting pissed at the same time taking sides of Amy, Nick, Amy, Nick. Then, you’ll love the attitude of Nick’s twin, Margo as she continues to love Nick despite his extremely wrong decisions and all his other weaknesses. Go really loves his twin unconditionally – if only Amy loves Nick this way then there’ll be a happy ending but ironically, it can also be darn boring. Honestly, it is how sick it is that will get you to READ and DIGEST this like not any fairytale or a happy-marriage-ending.

So yeah, if you like giving yourself a thrill then you should get a hang of this. Try it for yourself - your mind will get busy.
Hint: this is as crazy as watching Orphan (if you know this film)! :P

Between this and The Girl on the Train, I think I just need to come to terms with this sort of thriller not being my thing. This was ok for the first 60% but oh my GOD it dragged on so long.

I actually expected a lot more from this book considering how many people recommend it. There was less mystery in it that I thought there would be nothing necessarily super shocking. I would say the best part of this book is going through the process of character development with two main characters. But at the end of the day at no point was I shocked or surprised by a turn of events or the ending outcome.

I gave this a 5-star review simply because the story kept me enthralled. I finished the book in two days. The ending, well I'll be honest, the ending pissed me off. I don't want to give any spoilers, so I'll rant verbally to my friends. I like a good story that can sweep me away from reality and make me feel like I am in that fictional world, and this book definitely did that. But, Gillian, seriously, can we have a sequel???
