I listened to this on audio CD. The reader did a great job and I found this story to be original and heartfelt. I especially appreciate the author talking about expectations... my kids seem to be disappointed when they can't have what they want or go where they want or do what they want.

A girl who gets an organ instead of a piano and makes the best of it? Great!

The descriptions of characters, personalities, and relationships really rang true for me although I'm almost 50 and maybe I'm out of touch.

2 and a half. We listened to this in the car and I know for sure that I don't love listening to books. Might have liked it more if I didn't have it read to me--thus getting the narrator's interpretation of how things were said or thought.

This novel is so cute! It captures the voice and dreams of an 11 year old girl perfectly. I love how Zoe grew up a bit and learned to appreciate what she had. The unconditional support she had from her dad and Wheeler was amazing. I also loved the representation of nurodivergents in her dad, because he clearly had autism and/or bad social anxiety. Overall, a very cute, easy read perfect for middle grade readers.

This is such an adorable and fun read. I like every character and how this book teaches us to never give up, just keep playing.

Recommended to all young readers and adults alike.

I adore this book! Read twice. Hilarious with a heart. Great read aloud. A girl wants a piano but gets an organ. For any pianist out there, the humor and irony is great!

Linda Urban does characterization almost flawlessly; I've become such a huge fan of her writing in the past year. Her books just call "readaloud" to me!
