“We were supposed to inherit the earth!”
“Our parents said it was ours—they promised!”

Surprise appearance by Alex, who betrayed them back in the day. The Doombot comes for Christmas—socks all around! We learn more about the staff. And a super-fun issue from the perspective of Old Lace. Victor’s head in the old-school bassinet was amazing. And Gib won me over with his stoic nature.

“You could come and have dinner if you wanted. Technically you’ve done us less harm than Alex, and he’s invited.”

Ok, somebody needs to give me every Runaways sporadic appearance in the Marvel universe after their run ended because somebody needs to fill me in on why & how Alex is back...and when Nico tried to bisexual again with Victor...cuz I am LIVID this doesn't let me in on what happened.
Also, that freakin' Christmas issue was fun & heartbreaking all in one fell swoop.

3.5 stars. I wasn't really into the artwork of the first two issues of this volume. Nevertheless, Runaways never lets me down! Having Alex back in the picture certainly made things interesting, as well as the appearance of the Gibborim's children. As always, Rowell does an amazing job with the script, making the interplay between the characters feels real and dynamic. My favorite parts of this volume were the Christmas dinner (feat. Doombot), the revelations about Nico's staff, and Gib!

i started reading this new release after discovering runaways via the tv show.
the writing and the plot is okay, but it often feels to have too much background narration instead of letting the actions talk and the dialogue take control.
i dont personally like kris anka but his art is gorgeous and his fashion sense is amazing. i am sad to see him go, but happy we got so many amazing nico and karolina panels with his art
