The art in this book is awesome but the writing is very disjointed. Perhaps because it's a translation? I would be very interested to know if it works better in the original French.

Light, hagiographical account of Cohen's life. The Israel support passages feel particularly cringey and awful right now.

Leonard Cohen is an all-time favourite. I was lucky enough to see him live in Helsinki in 2010, and considered writing my master's thesis on his songwriting.

This lovely graphic novel illustrates key moments of his life, a couple of which I wasn't familiar with and hit me emotionally. If this is the way he died, alone on the floor, it is truly sad. I like how Cohen fans will know which songs are implicitly referenced throughout. The illustration is suitably coarse, reflecting Cohen's brand of melancholic humour.

If you don't have time for a full biography, this will do in a pinch...but a full biography is recommended and even then you won't scratch the surface of this human's lived reality

Based on this novel, I don't like Leonard Cohen very much as a person.
