Was not a fan of the author deciding that THE BEST inciting incident would be an olive-skinned Israeli girl being a mean girl to a doll-looking Germany girl. Especially since the main character went on for ages about how the mean girl wasn't special. Antisemitism is boring, get a better trope.

The end surprised me.
I love Ally carters books. This book isn’t my favorite of hers but I would definitely read it again.
One thing to mention is that the MC has severe PTSD and has bad flash backs.
She has flashbacks of fire and gunshots. She remembers vividly about the smell of smoke.
She has very bad panic attacks.
I do not think it is to bad but it’s just something to consider. <Spoiler> Her family also gaslight her in a way. It is to protect her but in the process they make her feel like she’s crazy. They don’t listen to her and brush off her actuations. In the end they make her feel like she’s crazy and that they don’t love her as much.

PLOT TWIST. Whoa. Okay. That was a sad turn of events.
So far I really like Noah and Rosie. Megan is growing on me. I really like Alexei (even though he seems mysterious and I’m scared to trust but I’m so hoping he’s great.
Lots of actions, lots of plot twists, lots of suspense… kept me reading. That’s for sure!
