Bad move for the only polyamorous character to be the villain. The story was otherwise good. When we struggle with representation in general, bad representation is a gut punch, and it's an effort to look past it.

I really enjoyed this book. I almost put it down in the first chapter when I realized it dealt with cyborgs (total judgement on my part because normally I wouldn’t pick up something like that). I’m so glad I decided to keep reading because it was so good. I can’t wait to get my hands on the sequels.

Also…I really loved the nods to the original aspects of Cinderella. Very nice retelling.

I wish Goodreads would let me do half stars, because this one is closer to a 3.5. I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to reading on in the series, but it gets a lower rating due to how predictable certain things were.

This book introduced a world and characters with a lot of potential but it honestly fell short for me. The characters were very superficial and I feel as though Cinder didn’t have any character development throughout the book. The relationship between her and Kai was also very insta love and they had zero chemistry or any moments that made me want to root for them. The plot was extremely predictable and everything I guessed would happen did in the end so I was loosing interest very fast at the end. It was an okay book and kept me entertained for a bit but I don’t think its a good start for the series.

Loved it! I think this was actually my first sci-fi book. I wasn't sure how much I would be into it, the idea of cinderella as a robot put me off on picking it up for a long time but boy was I wrong! Can't wait to read the whole series!!
