In essence, fairy tale creatures cannot exist away from the setting of the fairy tale world (including the evil creatures). This can be further extrapolated to the broader concept of good not being able to exist without the bad. Overall an interesting concept. I also really liked the broader concept of Utopia the magazine this story was published in was covering and analyzing.

Beautifully written, though I wish it had been longer!

So, all the good fairy tale creatures decide to move into an island to form a utopic society where there is no evil.

Imagine what happens afterwards.
