What an emotional roller coaster! So many plot twists that I didn't see coming. The sheer amount of drama was almost too much for me alongside the anticipation of a tragic ending. However, the author pulled it together beautifully in the end, as she always does. The ending was as sad as I'd anticipated in many ways, but so much better than I'd expected in other ways. The reader is left with a sense of hope. I still cried buckets though!

I'M STILL SOBBING!!! That was the best ending she could have given these characters. God, I hope that TMI ends half as beautifully as TID does.

First I just want to say that I love all Cassandra Clare books and The Infernal Devices is probably one of my favorite trilogy. That being said I feel a bit on the edge about this one. I was expecting A LOT from Clockwork Princess and I think I may have expected way too much.

SpoilerOn the bright side I really loved the humor and the action that were both really present during the whole book. The whole Lightworm thing still makes me chuckle and Will had once again lots of good lines. Gabriel also turned out to be surprisingly funny and I really liked him.

On the not so bright side there were some things that disappointed me a lot. Except for the whole Clockwork Angel business, things were utterly predictable. For exemple the revelation of Tessa's nature wasn't one since we probably all guessed it ages ago. The relationships were all really predictable too, and from the middle of the book I mostly knew how everything was going to end.

Also, my biggest letdown was the ending. It was very easy. All the bad guys died and all the nice ones got their happy endings... Not to mention the second part of the epilogue that was simply awful and the prime exemple of the fact that Cassandra Clare didn't take any risks and definitively took the easy way out.

Despite all of this, I still enjoyed reading the book a lot and it won't change the love I have for this trilogy and the characters. I'll just totally ignore the end if I re-read it in the future !
