I just finished The Body by the Sea by Jean-Luc Bannalec and here are my thoughts.

Georges is shocked when the body of Dr Chaboseau is discovered on his home turf. A place perfectly positioned to withstand enemy attacks from all sides so Chaboseau falling to his death sets his teeth on edge.

Can he find out what happened to the doc when there doesn’t seem to be anyone answering the call for help?

I haven’t read all the books in this series as of yet but that doesn’t stop this book from being a wonderful read on its own. I loved the setting of this book too and the wonderfully descriptive landscapes really are charming and will flood your imagination beautifully. The author has a real talent for setting the stage.

Already a fan of Georges so having more of him in my world was definitely a thrill! The storyline is cleverly done and it flows nicely off of the last book! The characters are really relatable and I love that in a book.

What didn’t I enjoy…. It is a slow paced novel which is excellent for people who love the dramatic build up but not for those of us who like things to move a little quicker.

Overall a solid 4 stars and like I said, works as a standalone by why not check the whole series out.

Thank you to @minotaur_books for my gifted copy. Out now!!
