A few of my favorite authors, Skylar Andra and Mia Harlan, wrote two stories in this collection, and I was very excited to see what they had contributed. Especially because I don't think I've ever read Alien romances written by them before. So, when I finished another book today early I knew I had just enough time to squeeze in their two stories.

What I really liked about those two stories is that they're so incredibly different. Glow Sticks, by Mia Harlan, is a reverse harem story clearly focussing on a more physical connection between the involved characters, while Skyler Andra's Draco Warlord is a m/f story where one of the characters is determined to not act on the physical attraction and to get to know the other a little better first.

Both stories also invented completely different reasons for the characters to meet the aliens. In Glow Sticks the main character is signing up to be mated to a group of aliens, just wanting to escape this life. In Draco Warlord the earth is becoming more and more inhabitable and a crew of women is searching for a new planet to live on.

Both stories manage, despite the fact that the stories are short, to paint a complete picture of the situation, the planets we ended up on and the aliens our characters are falling in love with. Just like both authors painted a picture of the normal lives of these characters. And even though there are three male love interests in Glow Sticks, Mia managed to give them three different personalities.

I hope I get the chance to check out the other stories in this collection soon, because I'm quite curious about the other worlds now!

Red Is For Love...Not Rage ❤️

This review is for Seized By The Alien Berserker, by Lucee Joie.

So, it was nice to get more insight into the Vikingr Berserkers, as well as get to see what Erica went through after her ex-husband, Jarl Leke, banished her. The story is very fast paced with plenty of action, including the passionate kind. There were so many questions my mind kept asking, but I’m sure they’ll be answered soon. I could’ve read hours of this story, it was that intriguing ❤️ I’m biased though...I love this new world that includes Vikingr warriors

I think I read about half of the stories in this antho. I liked some, skimmed several, skipped some... Overall, it was interesting to expand my horizons, but I don't think alien romance is my thing.

Review for Rescued from the Depths by Ella Maven

Since I'm such a fan of Ella Maven's Drixonian Warriors I couldn't pass up the chance to discover more about the creature who helped Xavy and Tabitha in their story (The Alien's Challenge) and I was thrilled to read that Quist is not a creature at all!! While it was far too short (as most novellas are) I loved this addition to the Drixonian Warriors universe and I hope Quist and Sierra turn up again in a future story.

Despite his prickly arrogant demeanor Tacori has a heart of gold....way deep inside. I loved the undeniable chemistry between Tacori and Evelyn . The AI Hevethan and Viruk make it more enjoyable, with his banter and the pets amazing qualities it truly is a beautiful story

Seized by the Alien Berserker by Lucee Joie

4 stars

Erica, the female lead, has been mentioned in previous stories in this series as being the neglected/abused wife of the bad guy. He has now decided to get rid of her and has placed her in an arena to be killed.

Grim, the male lead, has a debt owing that he has been promised will be waived if he just kills the human female and the creatures in one round in the arena. But when he enters the arena, he feels drawn to Erica and can’t kill her.

This short story is dual POV, well written and edited, and (quite frankly) cute. The characters are well developed, given how short it is, and their interactions are gorgeous.

Her Runed Alien by Cass Alex

4 stars

This short story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a fast moving whilst still romantic romp. The male lead, Skarde, and female lead, Rachel, have some cute misunderstandings as he attempts to negotiate what he knows to be a fated mate bond but she doesn’t realise.

The author states that this is the short version with a longer one to be released later and it reads like it. Whilst it is complete, a lot is breezed over. I’m looking forward to the longer version.

Exiled by Eva Priest

4 stars

Ryne, the female lead, has been convicted of a crime she doesn’t even know how to commit and shipped off with people smugglers. When the opportunity arises to escape, she takes it and ends up crash landing on Taurik, the male lead’s, planet where all the residents are slaves who liberated themselves.

This short story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a prequel to a new series. It’s interesting and engaging and ends on a Happy for Now for the lead characters.

Star Hound by Libby Campbell

3.5 stars

Lacey, the female lead, is a journalist out for a real story, not just a fluff piece, and Emerson, the male lead, is a government agent investigating the whereabouts of missing women. His only lead is a prior incident Lacey was involved in and he makes a connection to facilitate his investigation whilst she undertakes hers.

The story was dual POV, well written and edited, and set in a male dominant world. Domestic discipline is part of the environment and doesn’t do too much for me. The story itself was cute and, since it’s so short, easily resolved but I liked the premise.

Ice Planet Prison by Alexis B Osborne

3.5 stars

The female lead, Keira, has been sentenced to prison for mutilating her powerful stepfather when he attempted to assault her sister. She knows she did the right thing but now she’s got to pay for it due to the corrupt world she lives in.

The male lead, Ylur, is a native of the ice planet the prison is on and he’s undertaking reconnaissance for his people. When he breaks out of the prison, he offers to take Keira with him. But his people aren’t pleased about her (or the others) presence on their planet.

The story is dual POV, well written, and an interesting prison romance. It finished with a Happy for Now ending VERY abruptly and I feel a bit ambivalent about it.

Glow Sticks by Mia Harlan and Sapphire Winters
This is such a fun and cute RH romance filled with quirks, and humor. Kira is a realistic character who has multiple mates; that she has plenty of heated chemistry with.

Draco Warlord by Skyler Andra
This is a prequel to Her Alien Conqueror, a MF sci-ci romance. It is a slower burn but it an intriguing introduction to a new series.

Alien Most Wanted: Caged Beast by Honey Phillips: 3 Stars
This was a fun premise but it was too short to have any real depth to the characters.

Her Pointy Alien by Margo Bond Collins and Nova Celeste: 2 stars
This was so short it was barely a story.

Prince of Rats by Margo Bond Collins and Sasha Caine: 3 Stars
This is the prequel to: Tiny & Fierce (Her Alien Crew, #1), this made me actually want to keep reading.

Skyler Andra's Draco Warlord was so good. I loved the a fight that Rose put up trying to keep away from Thrax but we all knew it was going to be a losing battle. And one scene had me LMAO I was so funny. Can't wait to read the next part to it.

MIA Harlan and Sapphire Winter's Glowsticks was hotter than fire and even more exciting it had my eyes crossing. Wowza Kira who signed up for the Garrnex Mating Games gets won by Troza and his Brothers Xereso and Bhogan and boy were they hot together.

The other books in this set were amazing Also

Review for Cass Alex's Her Runed Alien

An accident. A fated meeting. And a daring escape. This was a really cute story. Skarde is a Vikingr warrior (crossover from Lucee Joie's Galactic Vikings series) who crash landed on a planet that has tried its hardest to kill him. Rachel is a doctor for the Unified Governing Patrol working on a super secret base. A chance meeting brings the two of them together (with maybe a little help from legendary matchmaker Gobi), and sparks fly. One of my favorite things about this story is that there is no waffling between mate/not mate. It's taken as it is and I love it. The only downside? It's too short and I must know more lol.
