I read an ARC of this.
Initially I did not enjoy the writing style- lots of repetition, similes and metaphors that felt flowery. But eventually it grew on me, it lends emotion to the story being told.
This story is powerful but also frightening, that one man could do these manipulative and horrific things to so many women. With no remorse. This book is a personal and cultural lesson in the individual experiences of #metoo and man vs bear. To women I imagine the experiences will be all to familiar, if not their own then someone they know.
The pace of the story is good, I found my need to see the author vindicated and thriving carried me through the book pretty fast. And my morbid curiosity about just how many women this mystery 'him' had done this to and how. Truly scary.
I also loved the callbacks throughout the book to other incidents happening concurrently but explained later and to the chain and the Fleetwood Mac song that the chain is originally in reference to.
I enjoyed this book. It's well written, the story well told and the audacity is off the charts. I sincerely hope that 'he' is now divorced, no longer in comedy and unable to manipulate women. Better yet if he could be in jail.

Powerful story and messages that likely resonate with all women. Writing and style felt slightly disjointed between memoir portion vs commentary on larger social issues.

gut-wrenching, infuriating, unsurprising. A window into womanhood and the chain of sisterhood that ties us all together.
