A simple, predictable romance with a lovely royal spin. There’s a little mystery and self-discovery too that adds depths to the story. Overall, pretty good!

I couldn't put this down! I saw one or two of the twists coming (at least a little), and not having the HEA until the very last second was a little weird. It felt like it could use an epilogue to really get closure instead of feeling rushed. But overall I loved it and I'll definitely be reading the next one in the series ASAP. The audiobook narrator was great as well!

I loved this book as much as I hate the cover... I usually don't like book covers with "real people" on them, but this one is specially ugly.

I quite enjoyed this story. I really liked Naledi, her strength, determination and her will to pursue her dreams and carrer. The romance between Naledi and Thabiso is very real and interesting (and so very hot!). My favorite thing about this story (besides Naledi being able to find where she truly feels like home) is the fact that she does not give up on herself and her dreams to stay besides Thabiso. Although she loves him and her new found family and home, she keeps her dreams to get back to New York and follows her career. Because, God knows, we have enough books and movies where women just give up on everything to stay with a man... So this story is different and very much welcome.

This book was a fun rom-com! It has an all Black cast, and our MC is a woman in STEM which was a huge seller for me. I LOVE a strong intelligent female lead!

Naledi Smith is an orphan who lives in NYC. She has worked her whole life to get where she is. Now on top of her grad school work, and multiple jobs, she is getting very persistent emails from a spammer insisting she is betrothed to an African prince.

The end of this book felt more rushed than I prefer. I felt like it wrapped up too quickly. I still enjoyed the dynamics of the rest of the book. I LOVED the MC Ledi. Definitely recommend.
