This book should have been half the as long. It became tedious as a substantial part of it was made up of characters having conversations that didn’t go anywhere. A lot of time is spent with exposition and then the most significant parts are rushed through. Predictable and reminiscent of Riverdale.
I guess YA is just not for me anymore.

This book was such a fun read. I couldn’t stop smiling at the end. It also talks about really important issues like transphobia, racism, etc. Definitely recommend

if i could give this six stars i would! it was just so good, funny, cute, heartwarming, and real. the representation was just immaculate. as the queer, bruja, black sheep of the family i feel very seen and probably will never find another book that will make me feel the way this masterpiece made me feel. i couldn't put this down! chapter 23 did a number on me and i will forever cherish this inspiring book.
