I would love to give this five stars as I adored the first Red Hood story, but, unfortunately, couldn't care less about the Grifter one. He's not a character I'm really familiar with, and this story didn't make me particularly care about him either.
Graphic: Gun violence, Murder, Death of parent, Addiction, Violence, Blood, Drug abuse, and Death

ah fuck... this was the comic that got me into the shithole that was DC and very few DC series can be compared to this tbh...
It's just so great. Even without really knowing what relationship Jason had with Batman, it was so emotionally striking to me as it sets out to explore Jason's feelings towards Batman and his past actions.
As I knew more abt Batman and his family, I realised that comic writers didn't explore his relationship with Batman a lot; reducing Bruce to this man that hates killing and absolutely stands by that. that's absolute bullshit as you can see on the later issues of this volume.
Anyways, incredibly great if you would like to read good characterisation of Jason Todd and Bruce Wayne, and also if you want to cry real bad bc this volume would make you BAWL.👍👍

Art: 4.5/5
Red Hood story: 5/5
Grifter story: 1/5 ; what a confusing mess
Not Having Tim Drake's story even though DC advertised that it would be printed in this volume: -100/5 ; how homophobic (This part isn't factoring into my rating, but it seems like they aren't printing his story in volume 2 either. The fuck?)
Also, why in the world was this volume censored??? Like every 5th speech bubble was just @!$%. DC, you guys can curse if you want to. Literally no one is stopping you.
