Como lectora habitual de romance, puedo predecir casi todos los libros que leo cuando llego al 30% del libro pero este? Jamás. Me gustó mucho más por eso.

Liberty indecisiveness at the end between Gage & Hardy drove me insane

I literally have no idea what to expect from this book but I'm glad I did read it. I love Liberty Jones even if she annoyed me in some parts of the book. I love how she's so strong, independent, reliable and very responsible woman. She knows what she wants (except the man she really wants but I'm glad how it did turned out.

I really don't have anything else to say since I think I might give the whole, literal summary of the story but I'll just leave this words here.

Family.

Love.

Trust.

Dreams.

Responsibility.

Generosity.

I loved this story of a Texas girl who has to grow up way too soon. Her single mother struggles to rase one daughter then finds herself pregnant with another baby. Their lives get hard but then they get even harder when tragedy strikes. Liberty Jones is a woman I can respect, and I enjoyed her heart wrenching story.
Liberty has never been allowed to develop normal relationships, her responsibilities would make most adults run for cover. She doesn't, she works her tail off. Sometimes she gets nailed to the wall, but she unhooks herself gets up and moves ahead.
There are several men in her life, one breaks her heart, one offers her a future and one really loves her. I loved all three wonderful men with their stupid men problems. I do have to say I want my own Gage after meeting him.
I am already reading the next book.

What a little surprise this book was! I opened this up expecting a cheesy, Southern, easy-read romance but got so much more. It read less like a romance and more like a domestic saga with a touch of romantic suspense. It was reminiscent of a lighter "Where the Crawdads Sing," or a book version of that Natalie Portman movie from the early 2000s..."Where the Heart Is"?

As the blurb promises, you'll root for the narrator like you would a loved one. She was great, endured a lot, and had a wonderfully dynamic arch in the book. I'm really happy I picked this up, although I probably won't continue with the series. I didn't love it THAT much.

I think I enjoyed more Lisa Kleypas contemporary books then historical. First part of book was slow and wasn't into Liberty with Hardy even though she was great but soon as Gage show up book was immediately better.
Anyway romance between them was great full of tension and chemistry.
