Carey's dull plod through Xavier's past continues. The art is as unnecessarily convoluded as the story. Running parallel with the Wolverine Origins series, this era has to be in contention for the worst part of X-history. While there are many worse stories and worse art from over the years, this book suffers from neither presenting original ideas nor moving the larger narrative forward.
