This has been on my physical TBR for about 5 years and on my wishlist before that for a while. I should have read it when I initially wanted to because it does not hold up 25+ years later.

This was my third Christopher Moore book, and I love him a little more every time I read his stuff! I won't summarize this story since it's been done here so many times, but I absolutely recommend it! Tucker Case is a great character who makes you feel all sorts of different things for him. When we first meet him, he's a total screw-up, and your pretty sure he's going to get himself killed fairly soon. Yet, as the story moves along, Tuck redeems himself big-time, and you're wondering how you ever doubted him in the first place (well, not really...he was a HUGE screw-up, I was kinda surprised he had it in him)!

If you've never read a Christopher Moore book, then this is as good a place as any to start. He's absolutely hilarious and you'll fly right through his books. Be warned though, he can have a pretty twisted sense of humor, so if you don't like swearing, sex, or cannibals, then read something else, cause this certainly isn't for you! Overall, great book! I'm getting ready to start 'The Lust Lizard', and have high hopes for it...I doubt I'll be disappointed!

I really enjoyed this book. It was comical and good-hearted. A good redemption story with some fun imagination.

The first two or three Christopher Moore books I read completely hooked me and I jump at whatever one presents itself at the library. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy Island of the Sequined Love Nun nearly as much as the others I've read.

The beginning was fairly auspicious, but there was a long lag in the middle that kind of felt like a slog. Maybe it would have benefited from a more thorough edit.

I was secretly hoping Catch would make another cameo in this book, but since I hear Roberto appears in other Moore books, I think I can be okay with that.
